When are you allowed to bring DSLR camera's to a concert?

I have a canon eos rebel xs and i attend alot of concerts. I really want to be able to bring it but most of the place's i go say "no professional camera's allowed". But many of my friends on facebook have pictures of the same concert i went to using a nice dslr canon or nikon or something.

what do you have to do be able to use a professional camera? Do you have to have a license or something? Lol i have no clue… The people with the pictures seem to be "back stagers" so do they get to do it because they know people?

i'm VERY intrested in photography and have plans on going to the art institute for school. I just would really love some cool photographs.

Photography ideas for my holiday?

I'm going away on Sunday to Majorca and taking my Nikon DSLR camera.
Can anyone think of any creative or quirky ideas for some photographs I can take over there?

Suggest a digital camera

I have a panasonic lumix 8MP and I'm not satisfied with it at all, specially about the pictures at low light or at night so have decided to buy a new one. I have a budget upto $700 but I'll be happy to close the deal at 650! I'm not sure to buy a good compact digital camera or an average SLR (considering my budget). I have searched on the brands and everyone says Canon or Nikon (Canon is lot more suggested) but which model?!

I mean, theoretically, the brush will last a long time if not indefinitely but what about the cleaning pad side? I've had this one for almost a year and it still works ok but I'm afraid it has picked up a lot of dirt that may be harming my lenses. Any thoughts?

I'm having problems with my Nikon N50 35mm SLR camera?

I was trying to work on a project or Photography class. I had loaded the camera and that was fine. But when i looked through the viewfinder it was black. All i could see was the light meter in the bottom of the screen. Then when i pushed the shutter button the digital screen read error. Please help!

Added (1). I have already took the lens off and re mounted it a few times. And there's no lens cap on the camera.
