How to turn off the grid on the Nikon D3100?

I turned off my camera then i turned it back on and there was a grid there. Anyone know how to get if off?

I'm guessing you mean the grid visible in Live-View mode. To get rid of it simply switch on the camera, go to Live-View by flicking the switch on the back above the d-pad and press the "Info" button on top of the camera. This button is located near the On-Off switch, between the shutter and the mode dial. Pressing this button in live-view toggles between three different screens: shooting options, shooting options with grid overlay and extended shooting options.
