When are you allowed to bring DSLR camera's to a concert?

I have a canon eos rebel xs and i attend alot of concerts. I really want to be able to bring it but most of the place's i go say "no professional camera's allowed". But many of my friends on facebook have pictures of the same concert i went to using a nice dslr canon or nikon or something.

what do you have to do be able to use a professional camera? Do you have to have a license or something? Lol i have no clue… The people with the pictures seem to be "back stagers" so do they get to do it because they know people?

i'm VERY intrested in photography and have plans on going to the art institute for school. I just would really love some cool photographs.

Get permission prior to the event.sometimes it is the artist playing that will not allow it.
Media passes work too.
Yes it's who you know it helps a ton.
so be nice to the people you met you might end up working with one of them one day.
Over all call the venue and ask how do i obtain rights to bring my eos camera>?
