24 fps HD video vs 30 fps HD video: is there an advantage?
I asked this same question about a week ago and just voted the ONLY answer as Best Answer but Y! A's in its "infinite wisdom" (and non-compliant servers?) said I voted for "No Best Answer" which is NOT true so I apologize the gentleman ("Z") who should have gotten the ten points.
Other than that nonsense, are there any functional advantages to going 24 fps vis 30 fps? I plan on possibly getting a Nikon P7000 or Canon G12 and their HD video is at 24 fps. The Canon SX30 also has HD video but shoots at 30 fps (but has a smaller sensor size, higher optical magnification, and higher resolution - not the same type of camera). I'm in the USA, I do understand different frame rates, I just want to know if there's an advantage to going to 30 fps instead of 24 fps as I only want to "buy once" for a cheapazoid video camera that doubles as a high-grade point and shoot. Right now the Nikon P7000 "wins" for me but I'm waiting for the Image Quality test results.
Added (1). Btw: It was Mike Z who answered this before and didn't get the 10 points he deserved. Either my computer is messing up or Y! A's servers are misbehaving again.
What DSLR camera would take 3v lithium batteries (CR2)?
I have a Nikon N65 SLR at the moment… Gonna upgrade to digital once I finish with this photography 101 class. I bought a set of four rechargeable 3v lithium batteries for it, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a DSLR camera that would use the 3v whatevers? Or if anyone could suggest how I could find a camera that would take it?

Why won't my pictures upload on my Nikon Transfer?
I have a Nikon s550 digital camera. I got it about two years ago and has been working great, but recently, I tried to upload pictures onto the computer. I plug in my camera and a menu pops up. It says "camera connected" and then is suppose to have a list of programs (I think) and it says "select the program to launch for this action:" Then the camera symbol on the actual Nikon Transfer program shows up. I press the button, and say "start transfer" but after waiting for fifteen minutes, it has yet to upload a single picture.
Nikon Zoom lenses - why the big price difference from 80-400 lens and 200-400 zoom lens?
I'm a fairly competent amateur photographer, and have been a Nikon SLR user for a long time. The Nikon 80-400 Zoom lens costs around $1600 (street price). Yet, the Nikon 200-400 Zoom lens costs well over $5, 000. Since the less costly 80-400 lens has a much wider range of operation than the 200-400, I'm wondering what features make the 200-400 so much more costly?
What is a scope range that can zoom in at about 300yds?
Nikon
Bushwell
Maybe Leupold (somthing under 300$
Which digital cameras $200 and under are of high quality?
The Casio Exilim I had for three years broke(piece of s*#@t plastic gears inside broke!). I was never satisfied with that camera though.
I need a replacement soon so I can take reference pictures for my art class.
Any suggestions?
I'm in high school and can't afford anything more than $200… Which is pushing it because I need to save the rest of my money for other supplies I may need. So please don't suggest I buy anything over that.
I was looking at the Canon Powershots: sd1400(http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-SD1400IS-Stabilized-Black/dp/B0035FZJJ4/ and
sd1300(http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerShot-Stabilized-2-7-Inch-Silver/dp/B0035FZJKI/ as well as some Nikon cameras…
I'm looking into getting my boyfriend a dslr for christmas. However, I shoot with canon and he seems to like nikon. Which is fine, nikon is great too, but my knowledge about them is limited. I think he would fair best with something that compares to the XSi to T2i. I would prefer to get something with a kit lens, just because it's more affordable, as my budget is limited to around 600$.
Is there a difference between a Factory Demo camera versus a Refurbished Camera?
I'm thinking of purchasing a Nikon dslr camera. Cameta offers a "factory demo" camera for sale on ebay, whereas the Nikon store offers a "refurbished" camera directly from the factory. Is there really a difference in these two terms?
Some are saying "factory demo" means it was either a display piece or a salesman's demo. It's supposedly never used by a consumer and that they're mint to near mint condition.
A "refurbished", as told to me, can be the above or also a consumer return… Meaning that it could've been a defective camera that was repaired and brought up to spec. The kicker is that a refurb "may have been" used.
Are they right? Any recommendations?
Digital Slr camera? Low on cash?
I've been wanting to buy an Slr for a while now but saving that much money isn't as easy as it should be when your a college studen and everything. So I have around 350 to 400 $. I would like a canon or nikon but I'm open minded. Links are always helpful!
