Whenever I switch the aperture ring from 22. Novice here so go lightly:] The aperture ring is suppose to change how much light comes to the sensor right? So how come I'm unable to change it? On full manual by the way.
Which SLR camera? What to look for?
Have three options: Canon AV-1, Olympus OM 2000 and Nikon FM10. These are all available as second-hand cameras, the first one is for Rs. 4000 (around 87 US Dollars) and the other two are for Rs. 3000 (65 US Dollars) each. They all look to be in fine conditions. My budget is limited.
For my birthday, i'm getting a digital SLR camera.i'm trying to get one in the range of $600-$1000. I really am clueless on which camera to get.i'm not a professional or anythings, just wanting one to take high quality pictures. Please recommend a good camera. I want a camera from Nikon the most.
I'm going to soon buy my first DSLR camera. I'm looking at Nikon. Should I buy a kit, or the body and the lens? Also, do you have any recommendations for a good first DSLR camera?
Good DSLR camera for professional photography?
I'm currently using my Sony HD video camera for photography as well. It's a good camera, but i'd like to upgrade to a good dslr. Nikon or Canon preferably.between $400-$800 not looking to spent a thousand dollars on one, but i'd like a good one as well. Any suggestions? I'll be doing everything from portraits, scenery and environments including underwater with a housing. So i'll need a camera that can handle a wide range of variety. Also a good lens, good flashes. I have an idea of what I need, but don't really know where to start. So a good dslr camera, lens, and flash.
Has anyone tried the PhaseOne Demo?
I was researching the Phase One Digital Backs/bodies/setups and I was interested in knowing whether or not anyone has tried one of their demos, or what their experiences were with them. I'm really interested in learning the bottom line difference between their photos and photos that come from a high end Nikon DSLR. (Obviously higher resolution, larger files, raw, accurate color rendition, etc, but there's definitely an entirely different 'feel' to medium/large format photographs that are unattainable through smaller format [d]slrs.

Added (1). I feel that the PhaseOne camera system will also incorporate a wider dynamic range in a single shot, whereas you may have to bracket with another camera.
I also feel the answer below may potentially be misleading in that while you 'can' do the same thing with another camera, it just may take longer, be more complicated, or both, which discourages one from using it at all.
What's better a Canon SLR or Nikon SLR?
I'm very interested in photography and would like to buy my first digital SLR camera. I have been told that a Nikon is better but I want more opinions. My price range for the camera its self is no more then $700 (because it will be a present that my parents will get for me for Christmas. Also I do not own any lenses to go with the camera so which brand has better lenses? So which digital SLR is better a Nikon or a Canon? And also what lenses would you suggest with the camera which i will then buy for my self hoping that the lens doesn't cost more then $100. The kind of lenses I'm looking for are wide angles, very good zoom, portrait things, and different focus points.
Is this a Digital SLR? If so, isn't that an amazing price for it?
Http://www.walmart.com/ip/Nikon/13432983… I can't' tell if it is or not… And what's the difference between a P&S and a Digital SLR? I'm not used to all these camera terms… Lol.
Added (1). And can you take the lens off of this camera and put a different one on?
I'm 14 and have been interested in photography for a few years now… Would this be a good investment, and would it satisfy my photography needs for at least a few years until I can get a job and buy a better one?
Hello(:
So I'm fourteen years old and very interested in photography, and have been for a few years now.
My old Kodak camera broke and so I need a new one… But I have no idea what kind I should get!
I would preferably like a Nikon, FujiFilm, or Canon, around 12-15 MP… I definitely want a DSLR instead of just a regular digital one… I would like one with a lens that you can manually focus in or out, but it's not a MUST. I need the price range of $160-$260, or around there. Please help me out! I don't know all of the camera terms, and if someone could explain them to me in easy english, that would be great xD…
Also, A link to a camera website along with the name of the right camera for me would be great. Thanks!

I'll be using the camera for more close-ups, such as plants, insects, small objects, and some landscapes and self-portraits… I want one that I can use the "bokeh" style on also…
I have a 4-6 year old German Shepherd and Chow Chow mix that I adopted from a shelter a few years ago. She's an amazing dog and I love her to death but she's absolutely TERRIFIED of my cameras! It doesn't matter if it's my little handheld digital Kodak or my big Nikon, she runs away! Any ideas on why this is or how to make her not be scared? I need to take her picture for a class project and I can't cause she's too scared!
