Nikon D300s problem with turning it on and off?
I have a D300s, the problem is it won't switch on and i've tried with 4 different battery and lastly with a brand new battery still won't switch on. Sometime the camera simply turn on but normally it simply won't turn on and the newest problem with it is when i tried putting the camera battery in and out few times, it work the camera turn on but saying the lens and memory card are error. But after few hours being turn off the camera simply work but only for few hours than it turn off again.

Nikon d5000 will meter with all the lenses which nikon d90 can meter.m i right?

i can handle manual focus but if the gear can't meter with the essential lense(which is not AF-S) like macro, prime lense then it is of no use
another question can nikon d200 meter with prime lenses

Is nikon d80 better than nikon d200 in low light?
Maybe what i want like a good viewfinder, autofocus motor and good low light performance is all there on nikon d80.
i might spend $500 for the body(used for 1 year) . What do you think
Added (1). Does nikon d80 have high speed sync with flash and can its mainboad flash serve as the commander
Added (2). High speed sync like 1/500 or above with flash

Nikon d200 with sigma 18-200 with $600?
Shutter count 8000. Should i get it.
another option for me is going for nikon d5000(at the same price) which lacks wireless flash and HSS. I want to spend less in af-s lense. So it would be good for me to spend on a body which has built in focus motor. As i wish to take photo with flash or mostly in daylight so high iso also not that important for me.currently nikon d90 is $850 body only. So it is out of my budget and as d90 don't have time lapse option then nikon d200 is the only option available. What do you think
Added (1). The seller is asking $700 but i think that would be too much

I'm a photography student and my teacher told me to shoot in Raw (NEF) for my photo shoot which I did. One problem, I can't open the images in anything but Preview (I'm on a iMac). I only have Photoshop CS and I can't afford to upgrade to CS3/4/5 and the NEF images won't open in Photoshop.
Does anyone know how to convert NEF into JPEG or open them in NEF in Photoshop?

I want to buy a HDSLR and was wondering what would be the best for low light shooting and also overrall (without considering the price)? Let's say… Your top 5.
The Nikon D7000 seems to be a good choice overall but it looks like the video is not that great… I don't know if that's true though…
The T2i seems to be the most affordable choice but lacks the 2 slots for example… And I don't know how good is the video.
The Mark II looks like it's really the best but it's "old" so I'm not sure about what replaced it? The D3s?
Thanks
Added (1). Actually i'm not the one saying that the video on the nikon d7000 didn't seem good, I think it does but I read many reviews (like in cnet) that say it's the the best choice for video and another said it wasn't at all good to put it on blu-ray… But they don't explain why so… That's what I'm trying to find out!

Firing Strobes remotely from Nikon D200?
Can't afford Pocket Wizard? I want to fire a Norman 400B and a Sunpak 500. Suggestions as to Cowboy Studio trans/rec or other brands?

I want to buy a new camera, Any suggestions?
I need a new camera, My Olympus Evolt 520 is just not doing it anymore. I'm becoming a better photographer, but the camera is crippling me. I need a new camera (preferably Nikon, and I hate Canon). I would like an APS-C or CMOS sensor. I'm looking at the D7000 (I would like a D3X or S but good luck affording that). But the problem is, I want to get a 2000 dollar camera at an intermediate level. The problems I'm having with my Olympus is the lack of customizablity. I want to be able to edit the shutter speed and 'f/'. Olympus is a great camera, but I would like to move on to a better more professionall camera. Any suggestions? I'm great with cameras, so if you recommendd one, tell me why.
Added (1). I'm aware that the lens is an important part. But the body is the brains of the operation. The body of the camera also controls the noise. You can't shoot a beautiful picture with a 6MP point and shoot. I know that I want a Nikon, but I would really like to know which body.

Used dslr nikon d200.is it a good buy?
Nikon d200 1.5 year used with sigma 18-200 mm lense at $700
or should i go with nikon d90 body and wait for some time to have a good lense (budget shortage)
