Nikon MC-DC2 cable release for D700?

Please tell me that the nikon mc-dc2 cable release is compatible with the nikon d700. Does anyone currently use this cable release with the d700 and if so, how does it perform?

No, the d700 takes the mc30 or any 10 pin clone.
