Convert Nikon D300 Raw?

I'm a photography student and my teacher told me to shoot in Raw (NEF) for my photo shoot which I did. One problem, I can't open the images in anything but Preview (I'm on a iMac). I only have Photoshop CS and I can't afford to upgrade to CS3/4/5 and the NEF images won't open in Photoshop.

Does anyone know how to convert NEF into JPEG or open them in NEF in Photoshop?

If your apple software won't see RAW files then you're going to have to buy different software… Simple as that.

If you have the CD that came with the camera, there should be a program there for opening that RAW file. If you don't have it, look for a freeware NEF graphics program in the internet. Use the Search box at the top of this page and type "NEF freeware", then hit Enter.

I use DxO optics pro 6.
