Does just the body of the SLR take pictures?
So i want to buy an SLR camera on Ebay. I don't have So much money to spend. But i found a Nikon D70 for like 100 bucks. I was all excited and ready to buy it but then i realized it said "Nikon D70 body".so i was like oh so i need to buy a lense. But even if its just the "body" could it still take pictures? I'm so confused.

Nikon or Canon. (20 characters)?
I'm planning on taking a Photography class since I want to be a Photojournalist. My mom also is taking a Forensic Science college course in which she needs a DSLR camera that can also take videos, then of course a tripod, xtra batteries, charger, etc etc. So we decided that we'll get a camera for both of us.
I found some nice ones online, but I can't decide between the Nikon or the Canon. Which would you suggest?
Here's the Nikons I like:
- Nikon D5000 ~ http://www.nikonusa.com/...s.Overview
- Nikon D3100 ~ http://www.nikonusa.com/...D3100.html
And the Canons:

Nikon d3000 battery won't charge? - 1
So i just got the nikon d3000 yesterday and put the battery on the charger right when i got home.
that was about 20 hours ago and the battery still isn't charged.
i tried putting it in the camera to see if it was a little charged but the camera wouldn't even turn on.
i tried plugging it into a different socket…
is it supposed to take this long to charge? Or do you think something is wrong with it?
Added (1). The red led is blinking. It hasn't stopped blinking sense i put the battery in.

Can I use a old Minolta sun pack 433d flash with wireless triggers with a Nikon d5000?
I'm trying to get in to the stobist thing and I'm trying not to break the bank. I have a D5000 and a Sunpack 433d(? I'm at work and do not have it with me I know it a a 400 series) flash from my old Minolta film SLR. I'm wondering if I can use these in combination with wireless triggers ( I'm looking a Cactus cheep I know but i'm wanting minimal expense for now) Any suggestions, or web pages that have examples of using a setup with one brand of camera and a flash that is designed for another camera would be appreciated.

Nikon D50 DSLR freezes [locks up] after it warms up - most likely explanation?
This camera is somewhat of a classic, and has given many years of reliable service, but recently has developed an issue.
when it is turned on from a cool state, it works perfectly for a few minutes (less if used intensely, more if used sparingly).
after it has been on a few minutes and has begun to warm up (from the heat dissipated by the electronics), it will:
- freeze as menu selections are being made, or
- freeze right right after the shutter fires (no picture is recorded), or
- freeze in the middle of a "playback slide show" running on the lcd, or
etc.
[the camera has never ran abnormally hot, just slightly warm]
when it freezes, the top-side lcd panel remains lit, and no error message is displayed. If the lcd screen is on when the freeze occurs, it also remains lit. If the lcd screen is off when the freeze occurs, it stays off.
once camera has frozen, there's no response to pressing any buttons, except the shutter button, which can activate focusing motion, and sometimes even fire the shutter once (and only once), with no picture recorded.
[the contents of the memory card are unaffected by freeze-ups, and the photos stored there are always preserved for later viewing or downloading.]
if i turn the camera off and then back on, it starts working normally again, but will freeze up again in a pretty short time (usually less than a minute or two).
as it gets steadily warmer, there comes a point where turning it off and on no longer has the effect of restoring normal camera function.
but then i can still get it working normally again by removing and reinstalling the battery. However then it will quickly freeze up again, usually in an even shorter time than before (maybe thirty seconds or less).
after a few times of removing and reinstalling the battery, the camera begins to have difficulty recognizing the memory card, at which point the only thing i can do is let the camera cool down to room temperature.
then it will work normally again, until it starts to warm up.
what are some of the most likely explanations for this behavior?

DSLR (nikon d3000) focus ring wobbles?
I have a Nikon d3000 dslr, the focus ring for this camera was fine until today when I checked it and it was wobbling. Please could you tell me what is causing this problem and how much it would cost to fix it.

How does release of a new model affect the sales and price of the older model?
I know normally the price goes down, but case in point, Nikon D90 has gone up in price in the last month due to lack of availability due to production being slowed and halted to make way for D7000. What are the trends of fluctuation in prices when this has happened before?
