In the market to buy a Digital SLR camera - which one to buy?
It will be my first digital slr camera, so you could say I'm a beginner looking for a camera to suit.
I have been looking at the Nikon range, so what would you suggest?
The Nikon D3000 is currently on offer at Jessops, but I'm usure as to whether this camera may be too basic? I know my way around an SLR and am well used to taking pictures!

How hard would it be to manual focus this lens?
So I have the opportunity to get a Nikon 70-300 lens in E+ condition for around $100. The only problem is, I'm a rather new photographer, and I have a D40, so this lens will not autofocus with my camera. My question is, how hard would it be to manual focus for landscape photography?

What editing software is best for a (beginer) pro photographer?
I just bought a nikon D3000 and have been toying around with it. I really feel like this will be a great camera for the beginning of my carrier. My question is what editing software will give me professional level pictures for a studio and outdoors? Also what are some essentials that i will need? (tripod etc.)

How to take off the bracketing feature off the Nikon d90?
I turned it on, and now I don't know how to take it off

Has anyone had experience of using a non VR 55-200 dx lens on a nikon d3000?
Is there much difference using VR or not?
How does the big zoom cope?

OK, I have saved for a while now, and am ready to switch from a 35mm film camera (kinda late, right?) to a dSLR. I'm an aspiring freelance photographer whose main interests include snapping nature/landscape & architectural photos. I have heard great things about both Canon and Nikon DSLR's. Here are the facts:
- I shoot a lot using HDR (High Dynamic Range), which I understand Nikon beats Canon on.
- I have heard from multiple trustworthy sources that Canon shoots better in nature/landscape scenes because their cameras have the technology to change ISO and shoot in low-light conditions better.
- I already have 2 (quite expensive) Nikon lenses, which I have shot with my friends Nikon, and have loved. So, it has to be a great argument against Nikon and for Canon for me to consider Canon.
- My budget is $1200, roughly.
- I have done some research, and a great starting camera is the Nikon D5000, with the Nikon Nikkor Macro lens which is what I also love (Macro Photography)
- I'm looking for the clearest image quality of the two.
The more opinions, the better. I really appreciate it!

Nikon D3000 - Worth buying? Any recommended lenses?
I think I'm buying a Nikon D3000. Has anyone got one? If so, what's it like?
I'm also wanting to do some macro photography, what would be the best lens to use with the D3000 to do so?

Good SLR Camera around 500-555$?
My wife is into photography lately, so for her birthday I've decided to give her an SLR camera. The thing is, I know absolutely nothing about them. My budget is around 500$. Can I get something decent with that? We don't have many brands here, only like Canon, Nikon and Fuji something. It seems that all she's looking for is good image quality and stuff like that.
Added (1). Would Nikon D3000 + lens 18-55 mm VR do?
Added (2). Looking for a digital camera, I guess.

Why does r11 show up on my Nikon d80? Hello, I have a problem with my Nikon d80 -?
Having lost the manual I wondered if anyone could help.
What happens it that sometimes with the lens not extended the shutter gets stuck and won't take a picture and I get an r11 symbol on the digital readout.
Can anyone tell me if this is a major fault I need to take in and pay money to get fixed or am I missing something that I can do to fix it. Or is it meant to do it under certain conditions.
Grateful for any help
James

I have a used Nikon D40x I'm unsure how much to sell it for?
I have a D40x which is used, I do not have the box for it or instructions, only charger and battery and the lens it came with, I'm unsure of how much to sell it for. It is in very good condition and I have only taken 6, 000 photos with it.
