Will my Kiron 70-210mm lense fit any new digital cameras?
My Dad has a few lenses that he used on an old Nikon 35mm camera he got when he was in Vietnam. I was just wondering if any of the lenses would work on a new Nikon digital camera? I just tried the Kiron 70-210mm on a new Nikon D3000 that my sister got but it said "lens not attached" even though it was attached. Just wondering if anyone knew if it would work on any new digital cameras.

How to combine 2 pictures while shooting on a digital SLR?

Nikon d5000 camera screen won't show picture before taking?
Nikon d5000 camera screen won't show picture before taking?

I've been using a Canon point and shoot for about a year and I'm ready to move up to a DSLR. I really love photography and I'm looking for a camera with continuous shooting and great quality while still easy to use for a beginner. My price range can go up to $900 including the lens. I've been looking at a Canon Rebel T1i and a Nikon d40.
Can you give me input on these two cameras, advice on beginning using DSLR cameras, and any other good cameras?

Which 70-300mm Lens for Nikon D90?
I'm researching into good quality zom lenses with a focal length of 70-300mm. I went to a camera store to look at the nikon vr version and a sigma version (both are stabilized) anyway, i liked both of them, but i want to know what sigma use to name there image stabilized versions of their lenses (e.g. VR for 'vibration reduction in Nikon lenses). How to i know if a sigma lens has got image stabilisation? Also, what are you thoughts about these lenses? I personally thought the Nikon lens felt fairly cheap whereas the sigma felt better quality and extremely responsive.
Cheers, Tom.

Consumer Reports says Nikon d5000.
what do you think?

Nikon D 70 with AF Nikkor 70-300mm lens
Hi, I just got an AF Nikkor 70-300mm lens for my Nikon D70 for Christmas and need some help. I'm really new to photography so sorry if I don't know the names of things. At first when I attached it I got an fEE error so I turned it as far right as possible which stopped the error from showing. However, now when I try to take pictures of things very close using auto-focus and the high zoom picture setting (sorry I can't remember the name of it; it's the flower icon) the lens just zooms in and out and never focuses. How can I take very close up pictures of things in focus, and moreover, how do I use this lens/camera in general? I'd love to learn how but I have to start somewhere.

Any information on the Nikon D40?
I'm looking at buying a Nikon D40 and I want to know if anyone has feedback about it. Does it work good?! Are the pictures clear and nice focused?
