I found the BKT button but I don't know how to set up my camera for bracketing.
I was trying to upload photos from my Nikon D40 using ArcSoft PhotoImpression 6, and I canceled the upload before it was done (I hit cancel, I didn't just unplug the cord or anything) and now all of my pictures are gone. They were not uploaded, but they don't seem to be on the disk anymore either. Please help! I have so many wonderful pictures on there from my study abroad in Europe and I would hate to have lost them forever!

this is my first real photography camera, so i'm not really sure what i'm looking for.i'm not dumb and it won't take me long to figure out how the settings and things like that work, so if if it's complicated but a good camera, don't not suggest it n_n
i'm very artistic and i want to capture that better than i can with the camera i have now (Lumix LZ7 panasonic)

How to get a Nikon d5000 to auto-focus at night?
I'm trying to get a Nikon d5000 to focus at night so that I can take pictures of the stars but it can't recognize the stars and therefore can't focus on them. Eventually I tried manual focus but it took forever before I could get a clear picture because I can't see through the viewfinder at night?
My nikon doesn't work in sunlight? Why?
I bought a used Nikon d60 camera.bad idea. And then bought a brand new lens off of jr website. My camera ever since I bought it won't work in the sunlight I don't know why. It works perfectly everywhere else I just want to know why iy doesn't work in the sunlight. Is it broken forever or fixable.
I have had a Nikon D40 with the kit lens for a while now. I'm actually tired of the lens, and it gets frustrating on focusing. I'm not even sure if I'm using it right:/ I mean, I just put it on a setting and take a picture. I'm still trying to figure everything out since this is my first SLR. So I have a few questions:
1. What kind of lens do you recommend? I want a easy-to-use one, and I don't care if it's long range or not. I don't have that much money, so I can't spend like $300 on a camera lens, lmfao.
2.Is there a Nikon D40 tutorial some where? I can't seem to find one and I would love to know how to use my camera better.
