Film 35mm photography camera, Nikon?
I'm taking black and white photography in school this year &I have a Nikon. For the assignment that we're currently doing we're using the S, shutter, mode on our camera. Today when I went to take pictures I had it set on S and my aperure was blinking "EE" and there was no shutter speed shown, and I couldn't change it. Therefore it won't let me take a picture, that same thing is happening in the mode labeled "P" Though my camera is working fine in modes "A" and "M". What's wrong and how do I fix it so that I can take pictures in shutter mode?
I have a Nikon d-90 and i typically use a 70-300mm lense. When I shoot long exposure I have a difficult time knowing which settings to use, and when I do it, the entire picture is just white.
What settings should I use and how do I fix this?

Should I purchase a new camera or keep my JVC MiniDV for YouTube videos?
I plan on making a beauty channel on YouTube, but not sure if I should invest in another camera or not. I already have a JVC GR-DA30 MiniDV Digital Video Camera, so I'm wondering if this will be a good camera to start off with or should I just jump into getting a High Definition DSLR? If you think I should stick with my JVC MiniDV, how can I connect it to the computer? I know I'll need to get a firewire cable, but where can I get one? Would that cord be all I need? As for the new camera, what would you suggest? I prefer Nikons over Canons, so would rather have a Nikon if possible. My price range is $100-400.
What DSLR camera should I upgrade to?
In about 6 months time I'm looking to upgrade my camera! I currently have a 1100D and I know that I want to stay with canon when I upgrade (I generally prefer there cameras). What camera shall I upgrade to? I don't mind spending quite a bit on a camera! I would quite like a camera with a reasonably fast burst rate. I don't want to spend more that 800. I would buy a second hand camera. It doesn't need to come with any lenses.
Extra question. Do you think it would be worth me facing my fears and switching to nikon? Do nikon offer a better camera for the 700 pound mark than canon or not?

I'm planning to buy a point and shoot camera. (canon, Nikon, or Panasonic lumix). I want a camera with a descent zoom (Optical zoom at least 10x) and also something with a wide aperture which would allow to take picture of a subject with a blurry background. Also need manual controls. I know there are limitations. But what would be the best camera which comes close to these specs. Thank you
