What is better: Nikon or Canon?

I have used Nikon.

Both are excellent.

Nikon fans will say Nikon is best and Canon fans will say Canon. IMO… The "best" camera is the one that feels natural in YOUR hands and has controls/menu systems that you can operate intuitively.

Remember… Photography is roughly 70% photographer skill/experience, 20% lens quality, and 10% camera. In other words, it is up to the photographer to take a good photo, NOT the camera.

The best thing to do is visit an actual camera shop (not BestBuy/Walmart) and try the different models within your budget to see which feels the best to you AND they can answer your questions about the cameras. I bought a Canon for its ergonomics/feel/menu and control layout and a fellow photog chose Nikon for the same reason… It is about personal preference.

According to all the information Canon is the best and Nikon second best. One of the reasons is the lenses. Canon can use more lenses then Nikon as Nikon changed their mounts from their old lenses to their new ones which does not allow you to use their old lenses. Canons have a standard mount which allows more lenses to be used by more manufacturers.

The quality of the pictures are similar it depends on the models.

It really doesn't matter.

I'd say Canon.

Depends on the cameras you are comparing.

Canon DSLR cameras have lenses which can be used on other cameras. Nikon are not so interchanging.
