Nikon, it's higher quality and has less problems.

Get the Pentax Optio WG2. They've been making rugged compact cameras for a long time already giving themselves enough confidence to use the same waterproof, weatherproof, coldproof and dustproof technologies to their bigger and more valuable dSLR's. To add, their W series also are shockproof and now come with GPS tagging.
