50 mm vs 85 mm for portraits and candid?
Which prime would you prefer to use? My Nikkor 50mm 1.4 is excellent, but I wanted a little more reach but not too much telephoto, would 85mm work well or should reach further, eg 135mm?
Tamron SP AF17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II VC vs Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC Macro HSM? They are pretty similar lens but I'm not sure which one is better.

Can't the Nikkor 50mm 1.4 focus close-up like what 60mm 2.8 micro?
I'm now using 18-200mm and I'm satisfied but sometimes I can't shoot up pretty closely since it won't focus well. I'm doing food photography and its all about focusing something in the food and its really have to be pretty close to the subject. So would 50mm 1.4 do the work of 60mm 2.8 micro?
Added (1). But will extension tubes plus the 50mm 1.4 work as the 60mm 2.8 micro?

Anybody have any idea what this camera would be worth? It comes with Nikkor 75 f/2.8 and all the parts it needs to work. Assuming its in perfect working order. It has quite literally never been taken out of the box.

Okay, I'm looking for the second to front lens of a Nikon DX AF-S NIKKOR 18-135mm 1:3.5-6.5G ED lens system, It also says Nikon DX SWM ED IF Aspherical (infinity)-0.45m/1.48ft (0 with a / through it) and Made in Thailand. I looked almost everywhere on the web, and couldn't find the piece, or even the name of the piece. Could anybody help me out?
What Nikkor Lens should I lug?
Going to Key West with my D-80 next weekend. Shooting inside and out, close and far, high and low light, sunrise/sunset. My walkaround is a Nikkor 18-200mm VRII. I'm also taking a Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 prime.
I have room for one more Nikkor in the bag. Pick one and explain why:
18-55 and/or 55-200mm kit lenses (came with a D-50, not the newer ones)
70-300mm 1:4 (the cheap beer can lens, not the newer VR version)
55-200mm 1:4 VRI (I'm leaning toward this one)
And no, I don't have the new 70-300mm VRII… Yet.
