What Nikkor Lens should I lug?

Going to Key West with my D-80 next weekend. Shooting inside and out, close and far, high and low light, sunrise/sunset. My walkaround is a Nikkor 18-200mm VRII. I'm also taking a Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 prime.
I have room for one more Nikkor in the bag. Pick one and explain why:
18-55 and/or 55-200mm kit lenses (came with a D-50, not the newer ones)
70-300mm 1:4 (the cheap beer can lens, not the newer VR version)
55-200mm 1:4 VRI (I'm leaning toward this one)
And no, I don't have the new 70-300mm VRII… Yet.

I think you have your bases covered with the two lenses already. If you had a wide angle or macro, I'd say take that, but I personally wouldn't haul another lens unless I was shooting wildlife or macro.

The only one that you don't have covered with the 18-200 is the 70-300. You have a lot of overlap. I would actually sell at least two of your telephoto zooms and buy something else.

Actually, if it were me, I would sell everything but the 18-200 and 50/1.8 and buy something useful.

Bring a 70-300 and shoot some wilfdlife.

That one should cover you, I see you don't mention use of a tripod. Sunrise/set will be tough to do without one even though you have VR. I would save space and weight, just add a couple GND filters for the high contrast DR shots.

The other lens you will need is a good wide angle lens like the 12-24 or 10-24 mm. Key West is just full of homes, buildings and vistas that cry out for a lens that is shorter than 18 mm.

The only "wildlife" you are going to find in Key West will be some of the bar patrons and some people strolling down Duval Street.

There are, however a few sea birds you can shoot with your 18-200 mm

Provided the 18 to 200 gives good results there's no need for the 55 to 200. If you think you might need the length go for the 70 to 300, but you will probably not use it - your D80 has plenty of resolution in reserve to crop from the 200mm for a bit of extra length.

Stick to the two lenses, save your shoulder, and enjoy your holiday more.

Honestly the only one out of those I would bother with is the 70-300mm. The rest of the focal ranges are covered. It appears you have a lot of overlap in your lenses… I'd sell some of those.

Why not just leave the room in your bag to make it lighter? Or bring a flash or small tripod.

You said LUG so I take you at your word, but this lens is fast enougn and has image stabilization for you to catch most anything you would want in any kind of light. It is HEAVY but the photos you get will be worth the effort
