Zoom lens vs wide angle adapter?

I'm interested in buying the Tamron 18-270mm lens for my Nikon, as well as Wide Angle & Macro Lens Adapter (http://photojojo.com/store/awesomeness/wide-angle-macro-lens/

My question is, does it make sense to buy both or should I just stick with the Tamron?
I've heard that it contains a wide angle already because of the large zoom range, so does the Tamron already provide a wide angle view at 18mm?

Nikkor 105mm Macro Auto Focus Problem?

I recently purchased a Nikon 105mm Macro. When I switch off the Auto focus, Put it on manual, it still tries to find focus. I can still hear the motor going and the focus point won't stay still. When I focus in on my subject, hold the button down to keep my focus, and move to put the subject somewhere other than dead center, like I do with my other lenses, my 105mm will get lost trying to focus on the new area. Is this what the Nikon 105mm macro does, or is there something wrong with the lens I bought.

What do I need to know when buying a film slr camera off craigslist?

I love photography but don't know much about it or slr cameras, and I wanted to buy a cheap film camera to see if I can stick with it. I found a Nikon N6006 Film SLR Camera on craigslist for $40 and it comes with a Nikkor AF 35-80mm standard lens and some other accessories for free. I'm going to go check it out later today, but I was wondering what I need to look at to make sure it is working properly. Since it is a film camera and not digital, how will I know whether or not pictures will come out ok?

What are some good lights for portraits?

Hi! I have a D7k, with a Nikkor 17-35 f/2.8 and a 50mm 1.8. This lens combo works great for me right now, and I'm looking into getting a good at-home/slightly portable lights and backdrops for portraits. I'm slightly overwhelmed by tungsten lights, strobes, continuous lights, etc. I have no idea what to get, but I'm on a tight budget, and am looking for some lights with a backdrop for under $200.Is this possible? I would imagine that the 17-35 and 50mm are just about perfect lenses for portraits, and i don't need to get any new lenses.
Thanks!

Added (1). @MAX: Why would I use a telephoto lens for portraits, especially when my camera has a 1.5x crop factor? Do you know much about DSLR's? I own a AF-S Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VR, but I'm sure as hell not going to use that for a portrait.

Which macro lens is better?

I want a macro lens for taking close up photos of flowers, and also small insects where it is difficult to get to close to them. Which of these lenses would be better for my purpose, and also which one would produce better quality photos:
Nikon AF-S Micro 60mm F2.8 G ED
or
Tamron AF 70-300mm F/4.5-5.6 DI LD Nikon

Note: the Tamron is $200 CHEAPER

I've seen a lens called NIKON NIKKOR 50 mm 1: 2?

On my of these auction sites I've seen these manual focus lenses, ai, ai-s or non-ai

and often only mention 1:2 and not the aperture. I think it's an f/1.8 lens but it confuses me. Does 1:2 have something to do with magnification?
