Why does the Nikon D300/200 have a pop-up flash?

I mean… If your gonna buy the D300/200, why the hell would you use it anyway? As a weapon?

I currently have a Nikon D200 and I need help with starting with strobe lights…

1) I'm only 17, and have a VERY tight budget, so what do you guys recommend me to start on? ($300 max)
2) Can someone explain the whole "wireless TTL or something" to me?
3) What softboxes are in my budget?

Will a Nikon D3100 focus like this?

I'm trying to invest in a nice camera for Christmas. But I seem to be conflicted choosing between the Nikon D3100 and the Canon EOS Rebel T2i.

I seem to be okay with the photographic features of it and I like them both.

As for the video recording capabilities, I was wondering if the Nikon D300 will be able to focus much like the Canon Rebel shown in this video.

I think that seems quite nice.

Help, please?

How to find the number of shutter actuations on a Nikon D3?

I have a manual and refer to it often. I have spent enough time looking through the manual so I thought it would be easier to ask here.

I currently have a Nikon D100. Is it more worth it to buy a new body or lens?

I currently own a Nikon D100 w/ an AF Nikkor 18-35mm 1:3.5-4.5 wide angle lens. I was wondering if it is more worth it for me to upgrade my body to a d5000/d3100 or would it be better if i were to just get a new AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D lens? I would mainly like to be able to take quality portraits and candid photography.

Nikon D700 Lens Fitting? 50mm f1.8?

Ok, so this is probably a really simple thing to answer but i'm a little confused. I had a nikon D80 and upgraded to a D700. Therefore i'm aware some of the newer lenses i own have a DX crop which when appearing in the D700 have a black vignette. What i'm wondering is how do i know i'm not going to buy a lens with this crop? Is there a way to tell? And the Nikon 50mm f1.8 will this work on the D700?

Nikon D100 and D5000 performance?

Ignoring the fact that Nikon D100 was released many years ago and Nikon D5000 is a new series in the Nikon family, which one is actually performing better in overall. For example picture quality, pictures' detail and the camera button.
