Will a Nikon D3100 focus like this?

I'm trying to invest in a nice camera for Christmas. But I seem to be conflicted choosing between the Nikon D3100 and the Canon EOS Rebel T2i.
I seem to be okay with the photographic features of it and I like them both.
As for the video recording capabilities, I was wondering if the Nikon D300 will be able to focus much like the Canon Rebel shown in this video.
I think that seems quite nice.
Help, please?

Instead of asking on Y! A. You might want to actually go to a store to try out both cameras.

Sure. If you're talking about the out of focus background, all you need to do is control the depth of field. The D3100 uses interchangeable lenses, so you can use a wide aperture lens to achieve shallow DOF. You may want to look at features like autofocus while shooting video, and jello effect if video shooting is important to you.

550d! ^^

So have you done any research at all or are you just expecting a camera to be a "magic bullet"?
What your seeing is applied with Depth of Field - it's a lens and light issue and has nothing to do with the camera.
Here's a good place to do research.
