Third party external flash as commander on Nikon DSLR?

I have a Nikon D7000, Nikon SB-700, and a Dot Line RPS D728AFN (third party i-ttl flash). I'd like to use the SB-700 remotely off camera. In commander mode, the built in camera flash will set off the SB-700. However, when I use the Dot Line RPS flash attached to the D7000 in commander mode, the SB-700 doesn't work remotely with it. Is there a way around it? To get them to work together?

backstory: I had the Dot Line RPS flash from my previous DSLR, and bought the SB--700 recently. The reason why I wanted to use the Dot Line RPS flash attached while the SB-700 is in slave mode is because I have a lens that's too big and casts a shadow with the normal built in lens.

How to sand particles out of my image sensor?

I was at my local beach club today and I changed the lens on my Nikon D3100 in what I thought was a very clean area. I looked at the sky after I put the lens on to see if there were any particles. I noticed 3 tiny specks of sand in my view finder towards the edges. I completely flipped out, and I'm still worried because I got the camera last month and really don't know what to do. Should I get a dust blower or bring my camera in to get it cleaned by Best Buy/B&H?

Added (1). EXCUSE YOU HONDO AND YOUR STUPID REMARK! I'm sure I know much more about cameras than you ever will. I didn't ask for snotty remarks.

And I took off the lens and turned the camera to the light and still saw the sand particles. I also changed the lenses again today to see if the sand was only in the lens I had on and noticed it was still there even after I had my other lens on.

Added (2). I'm sorry for calling you out Hondo. The way you worded your answer made me feel like you were mocking me instead of trying to help. I guess you were right about the sensor thing.

Nikon lens: 35mm f/1.8g?

I heard this DX lens is for general, walk around photography and due to the raving reviews, I'm considering getting it. Shoud I get this or the 50mm f/1.8g? I'm using a D3100 so there's a 1.5x crop factor on the focal lengths. If I do get the 35mm, should i sell my general photography kit lens 18-55?

Added (1). I would ONLY consider getting rid of the kit lens it I went with the 35mm. I would obviously keep it if I got the 50mm, too tight

What should I do if I want to pursue photography?

Basically, I just want to know: what should I do if I want to pursue photography. I'm 16 years old, homeschooled, and I absolutely love photography. I have a Nikon D5000 which I have with me 95% of the time, and I adore it: D. And I've been thinking more about my future, and I figured out that I want to continue at this and get better at it.So… Should I get an arts degree in photography (is there even such a thing? Is it worth my time?)? Or is there another degree that would help me more in my future, maybe business? Also, I'm a Christian, and it's pretty important to me that I go to a Christian college. And there's very, very few Christian colleges that have a photography program. Do I even need an expensive university to pursue photography?

Nikon or Canon dslr amateur?

I'm a student looking at getting a new dslr for uni. I'm looking at the 600d and the D7000. I shoot at weddings and do quirky photography and make short films. Could you help me decide which on is better for my purpose, excluding price?

For a budget of $165, Yongnuo or Nissin Speedlights?

I have Nikon D3000 and I'm planning to buy my very first speedlight. Unfortunately, I can't afford Nikon's SB series so I'm wondering what would be a better deal between the two third-party speed lights I've mentioned above. I'm just a senior high school student who has been into photography for 2 years.
