Nikon or Canon dslr amateur?

I'm a student looking at getting a new dslr for uni. I'm looking at the 600d and the D7000. I shoot at weddings and do quirky photography and make short films. Could you help me decide which on is better for my purpose, excluding price?

The D7000 has a superior sensor and can shoot excellent video. NO dSLR can shoot film. For that you will need a proper 16 mm or 35 mm motion picture camera
