Is this Nikon Nikkor-S 1:1.4 f=50mm lens compatible with a Nikon D5100?

Should I sell the Nikon D5100 and buy the Canon T4i?
I know its a very amateur question but the t4i looks very cool with its updated feature.
I only recently bought the nikon d5100 for 699 at future shop a couple months back.
I slaped it on kijiji and looks like people are offering around 500-650 range.
What do you guy thinks?

I have Nikon D3100 camera and it's broke. Now I need to fix it, but i have no warranty and camera is bought from some America's store ( I live in Europe). If I'll take my camera with me in America would it:
1) be fixed by Nikon?
2) be fixed in a month?
or it's impossible that Nikon would fix it if i have no warranty?

What settings do I need for night photos with my Nikon D3100?
Last night I tried some night time photos and wanted to really capture some nostalgic scenes. I chose a spot diagonally across the street from a classic looking restaurant with neon signs so it would look like it was from the 50s and waited until cars passed by to capture their tail lights going by. I slowed the shutter speed and had my camera on a tripod. While the car lights looked great and the street lighting did too, the restaurant's lights were still too bright no matter the ISO. I tried a shutter speed of 13 and went down to 3 and still ended up with the same results except I had great looking smearing of taillights to show cars whizzing by.
In order to capture neon signs at night and be able to read them clearly in a photo, what settings should I use?

I want to get a power adapter for my nikon d3100.cheapish way to do this?
As far as I can see
I could get a battery grip with 2 batteries,
or I could buy an adapter for an adapter for an arm and a leg.
any suggestions?
by cheap I mean under ~$30
Added (1). Alright, thanks I'm only a hobbyist photographer, and I only wanted it for taking timelapses, so I just wondered if I could get away with something for cheap that I had been missing.

Best zoom lens for Nikon D3000?
I'm looking for a zoom lens for my Nikon D3000 camera, i would like a lens for taking cultural shots of locals, as natural as possible so i don't have to go to close! I want natural shots (no posing which comes from asking) if i'm making sense! I was thinking this one- http://www.amazon.co.uk/...B000O161X0
From what i've read thats a really good one!
