Canon XS Rebel or Nikon D3000?

I held both of them in my hand and i Was Pretty comfortable with both of them BUT i can't decide THEY ARE PRETTY Similar I use to have a Sony Alpha and it wasn't as good

I own an XS and it's an excellent camera. You do understand it doesn't do video correct?
