How to connect my Nikon D3100 to a computer?
I've heard that you have to install some software, because i tried to only connect the camera to my mac but it doesn't work. Does anyone know how to connect it?
Have you read the manual? If not, do that now… Look for the special mac instructions because I believe it's different than any normal computer.
Or you could just buy a card reader and do it that way.
I agree with Jim about the card reader
but if you want say for example do a time-lapse video, you need to install the software first, the software is found in the cd's/dvd's came with your DSLR. HAVE FUN SHOOTING
What do you mean?
If you are attempting to copy your image files to your computer, use a card reader.
If you are expecting to tether a D3100 to a computer, you did not do your research.
Only specific dSLR cameras can be tethered to computers and although mine is one of them, I have never had an assignment that would require me to do so.
