Any information on the Nikon D40?

I'm looking at buying a Nikon D40 and I want to know if anyone has feedback about it. Does it work good?! Are the pictures clear and nice focused?

The D40 hav its pro's and cons'. What good about it is its lowprice, extremely high image quality and low noise at most ISOs lvl. It has a user-friendly menu. Tis camera is graet for those would want to upgrade to a entry lvl-dslr from a pns camera.

in comparison with a high-end compact eg. The canon G7. The d40 wins it hands down on low lightenin conditions and low noise at ISO1600, the cons are tat the 3AF system is rather limited, and the AF system onli works with nikon AF-S lenses. Overall its a great camera…

you can also try other alternative like the pentax 100d, or canon xti or the newer D40x.

It is an excellent starting DSLR with many pro features. Of course the images are clear (sharp and in focus). That said I would recommend you go to your local photo shop and hold both the D40x and D80 in your hands and see how they feel to you. While the D80 is about $150 more than the D40x, it supports more of the legacy lenses than does the d40x
