Camera exposure changes although settings stay the same except focal distance. Why?
I have a Nikon D90 and recently got a Sigma 18-50 f/2.8-4.5 (first wide lens i ever had). Being used to my 50mm prime, i never noticed this before:
If, for example, i set the exposure to 1/125th of a second and f/6.3 i can take a certain picture outside, correctly exposed at 18mm. If i zoom in to 50mm, it underexposes although the lens can do that f-stop at 50mm.
I noticed this while trying to film something and wanted to zoom in while shooting. Any ideas?
PS: I only use manual exposure, so nothing else but the focal distance changes.

Guys who bought the new nikon d3100 please, please, please, put your personal reviews here. I'd really appreciate your comments. I just eyed this sweet thing a few weeks ago and it looks like a very good dslr for a newbie like me. Suggestions on other brands and/or models will also be very much appreciated.

Should I sell my Canon T1i for a Nikon d3000?
Keep in mind I just take pictures as a hobby, I took photography course but still have fairly limited knowledge.
Anywho I was thinking of selling the Canon T1i for say $750 Canadian, with an accessory kit and a tripod. (I'm fairly certain I can do this)
And purchasing the Nikon d3000 for $450 Canadian, which would leave me with $300 to put towards lens/flashes (since I don't have any yet)…
I'm not too concerned about the d3000 not having video recording capabilities (so that would not be a con for me)
However I'm concerned about the image quality difference?
These are the specs for the T1i http://www.canon.ca/...d=889#_030
and these are the specs for the d3000 http://www.nikon.ca/...px?m=17300
As for lenses let just compare the lens kits that are included with ea.camera.
I appreciate some help from a camera buff! Thanks.
Added (1). Hi Paul… I OWN the T1i already…

Nikon HD video shutter speed/aperture?
I have a D5000 which is capable of HD video, but I'd like to know its shutter speed and aperture. If you can set it, please let me know. I'm guessing all HD video capable cameras operate similarly. Thanks
Added (1). I figured you can't set it. I was wondering what it is.
