Thoughts on the new Nikon D7000?

Just a few hours ago, Nikon Announced their most anticipated DSLR of 2010, the Nikon D7000. I want to know your thoughts on this compared to the recently announced 60D

Added (1). I Think the DPREVIEW made a typo by quoting the price as £1299.99.It is actually $1299.99 for the kit and $1199 for the Body. Pretty Sweet!

I need advice on what camera to buy?

I'm not trying to be a photographer but I'm really into fashion and i like to take pictures of myself and friends. I'm planning on buy a 15.1MP Canon Rebel. When it comes to cameras' is the more megapixels the better? Or is it about the optical zoom or something. I'm pretty much set on the Canon Rebel, but I have my eye on a Nikon D3000, or just a 14MP Canon Powershot. But all i really need to know is if a camera is better because of megapixels.

What speedlight flash is best for the Nikon D40x?

I'm looking for a good flash for my Nikon D40x. I've heard good things about the SB-600, but a couple people have told me it won't work off the camera since the D40x doesn't have commander mode. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to flashes, so could someone enlighten me (pun not intended!) on what my best bet for the D40x is?

View photos instantly on computer when camera is hooked up?

I'm taking the photos for my school's composite and they are wanting me to have it set up so that once I shoot a photo of a student they can view it on a monitor and see whether they like it or not. I know it is possible because the person that did the photos before me was doing just that. It can either be a software or a plugin for something. I have a Nikon D3000 and use a pc laptop for doing the previews. Any ideas on the software or plugin?

Added (1). I also do not want it to be wireless so this won't work.

Added (2). I called adobe, and nikon and they both said that mine didn't work with any camera control software. So don't buy a D3000 if you want this feature.

Pentax DA lenses on Nikon or Canon?

I'm curious if there's an adapter to mount a current Pentax DA lens onto a current Nikon or Canon APS-C body (like a D3100 or EOS T1i). If so, would any features be disabled (metering, autofocus)?

Best point and shoot camera on a £100 budget?

I currently own a nikon d80, but i'm looking for something more compact (point and shoot) for just general use when out and about with family/friends etc

I have a budget of £100. Any suggestions, links etc are appreciated.

p.s. I'm looking for something with at least 10mp

Thanks,
Marie

Added (1). To clarify, i'm NOT downgrading to a point and shoot. The d80 i use for a photography basis. I'm just looking for a point and shoot simply for carrying around with me on a daily basis and taking quick photos when out with friends and family.
