I can't seem to get my flash sync higher?
I own a nikon D80 camera, and just opened the full menu, well I went to number 24 I believe on my camera and it said sync speed so I clicked 1/80th of a second, now I can't go higher when nikons are supposed to go 200th of a second, how do I change this? First shot or 2 it will go high but after that it will go back to 1.80th of a second, I shoot in manual so obviously switching to auto helps that
What should I ask for on Christmas?
I know that christmas is like three months from now, but I can't stop thinking about it for some reason. I can't decide on what to ask for between these three things:
1. A dslr camera (specifically the nikon d3100 or the sony a33)
2. The iPhone 4 (I already have a 3gs, but I really want the iPhone 4)
3. An iPad or a netbook (for going on vacations and such)
These are the only things that I will ask for but I can't decide on which one to ask for.
How to change a NEW to a JPEG file?
Someone got a hold of a my camera (Nikon D40) and screwed around with my settings, changing my JPEG to NEF. Now that I have uploaded them to my Windows Vista, they can't be viewed.
Much advice is appreciated.

I'm chosing between nikon d90 or canon 50d.both great cameras, but which of these is better?
if some of you will say 50d, which lens would be a good lens for it, the 17-85mm or 28-135mm?

ok so canon has more pixels, it's also faster with 6.3fps and even better body quality, but some says d90.
what's in the d90 that makes it better? Video? What else?
Film camera recommendations for a digital photographer?
My main goal is high-contrast black and white photography such as this:
i already know about f-stop, iso, shutter speed so i don't need a fully automatic camera. I just want something that is of a good build quality, affordable (less than 200), and compact… Preferably smaller than my Nikon D40, something i could just whip out without having to wear around my shoulder or stuff in a bag.
what camera should i buy?
should i buy used or new?
i'm looking mainly at standard 35mm SLRs, but a rangefinder would be nice, would there be any rangefinder cameras that fit my budget?

1/4000 - 1/60 sec canon rebel T2i
