View photos instantly on computer when camera is hooked up?

I'm taking the photos for my school's composite and they are wanting me to have it set up so that once I shoot a photo of a student they can view it on a monitor and see whether they like it or not. I know it is possible because the person that did the photos before me was doing just that. It can either be a software or a plugin for something. I have a Nikon D3000 and use a pc laptop for doing the previews. Any ideas on the software or plugin?

Added (1). I also do not want it to be wireless so this won't work.

Added (2). I called adobe, and nikon and they both said that mine didn't work with any camera control software. So don't buy a D3000 if you want this feature.

I'm not familiar with Nikon but he may have been using a program called Camera Control Pro. I use a similar program for my Canon D-SLR's and can do instant capture on my laptop via PC Sync cable.
