Just a few hours ago, Nikon Announced their most anticipated DSLR of 2010, the Nikon D7000. I want to know your thoughts on this compared to the recently announced 60D

Added (1). I Think the DPREVIEW made a typo by quoting the price as £1299.99.It is actually $1299.99 for the kit and $1199 for the Body. Pretty Sweet!

I'm a Canon guy… But that D7000 is making me drool a bit!

Curious to see what the AF will do and the prices but this is one kick*** new body!

Nikon is committed D7000 in serious in Photography unlike Canon EOS 60D which is more of a video over picture priority. If you want more video control and setting Canon would be better choice, for photography clearly the D7000 win over any camera under $1300, only camera can out perform D7000 probably D300s and Canon 7D and above.
100% view finder, 39AF and 6 fps is serious stuff for photo, but why Nikon can't improve their LCD? The same as the D90… The starting price I do think might be a bit high.
This is far better than Olympus annouce yesterday the E-5 which I think is the biggest failure in term of specs for the price point.

It looks awesome. I'm going to get one as soon as they are available.
So long D3000, Hello D7000!

They both are very alike. But the nikon has a lower reolution and slighly larger sensor. Also the nikon has a way worse movie mode because it only records1080p at 24 FRAMES PER SECOND! The canon has a slighly higher res.lcd too. But because of the better af on the nikon thats would be my choice.

Its pretty cool.
