Is D3100 a best entry level DSLR camera?

I'm an entry level photographer and planning to buy Nikon D3100, please suggest if any other camera model with the better features exists for the same price.

Please let me know whether Sigma or Tamron lens are good for D3100 and also suggest me a better low budget lens for D3100.

Nikon D90, Pentax K-r, or Pentax K-x?

I'm looking for a new camera (an upgrade from a Panasonic DMC FZ18) and I've narrowed my search down, or at least so I think, to the Nikon D90, the Pentax K-r, and the Pentax K-x. I'm pretty competent with a camera so the more "advanced" idea of the Nikon is a little more appealing. But what does that really mean anyway? All I know is that I want an upgrade from the camera I already have, not just the same camera with interchangeable lenses. Price is also definitely a factor though and the Pentax cameras are certainly cheaper than the Nikon. What I'm having problems with is actually knowing the difference between these cameras. It would be nice if someone could please help me understand the differences and tell me which one they think I should buy and why, assuming that they all are affordable.

Can I use the Aperture Ring on my 50mm 1.8D Lens with my Nikon D50?

I recently bought a Nikon 50mm AF f/1.8D lens and I put it on my Nikon d50 and when I try and manually change the aperture i get an FEE error.

Can I only use the camera to modify the aperture and not manually do it through the ring on the lens.

I have read that i have to have the lens set to f22 and have it locked which allows it to work. But i intended to use this manually through the ring on the lens…

It is kind of frustrating.

How to take pictures of reflective objects with a nikon D3000?

I recently bought a Nikon D3000. I take pictures of our local fire department on calls, but at night time with all their reflective gear. All I get is either a big glowing ball where the reflective is or it auto adjusts and makes all the pictures dark with white bars. How can I fix this?

Nikon D3000 Ebay is seller reliable?

Link: http://cgi.ebay.ca/...3a5fc56953
The price range is not too good to be true or anything but that model of camera is selling out everywhere because a new one is coming out. Does this seller look reliable? I'd rather not get scammed and end up with a Nikon camera.

Nikon D70s flashing F EE?

I have a Nikon D70s with a Nikkor 24-120 mm lens, and this morning when I turned my camera on, a symbol, F EE was flashing on the screen where the f stop usually appears. When I press the shutter button nothing happens, and turning the aperture dial or shutter speed dial doesn't seem to help either. I don't have the manual with me, so I have no idea what it means or how to fix it, it's never happened before! Any ideas?
