How to get my DSLR camera to flash?

I have a Nikon D5000 and I have the flash on. When I have the lights dim, it'll auto flash for me, but when I have the lights on it won't flash. I understand that it's just trying to self-adjust, but I would really like that extra bit of light from the flash even with the lights on. Is there a way to make it flash no matter what the situation?

Can you zoom while in the movie mode of the new Nikon D7000 SLR?

I can't find a site that actually comes out says if you can or can't zoom while filming with the new Nikon D7000. Auto focus does work, I realize.

Also, if anyone knows a place that has the Nikon D7000 body in stock yet, let us all know!

Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II AF-S NIKKOR Lens?

I was just wondering i'm looking to buy this lens for the new d7000 that i ordered, but was wondering if it was really worth getting this one over the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR AF-S NIKKOR Lens. I will be using it for all sorts of occasions from weddings to sports…

Is it really worth spending the extra 600 bucks to get the version II?

Canon 7d information?

I currently use a canon HD camcorder (hv series). I also use a nikon d70s for photos. I was looking into these HD video DSLRs, and couldn't help but think this may be a great way to knock out 2 birds with one stone.
-are these cameras a valid replacement?
-in using SLRs, you adjust the focus, aperture, and shutter speed manually (atleast you should). When shooting in video, is there any way to tell if the video I'm taking is too bright/too dark besides using the light meter?
-can you adjust shutter speed in video mode?
-is there continuous focus on these models?
-is there a limit to how long your clips can be?

essentially I'm looking to replace most of my equipment with one of these things. Not necessarily the 7d, too pricey for me. I was looking into the nikon D series and the Canon T2i. I'm worried I won't like the DSLR though.
so really I guess i'm asking what the true cons are of these designs.

Nikon D3000. How do i do a continuous shoot?

I just bought the Nikon D3000 and want to be able to take continuous shots of things moving or whatever. I'm having problems figuring out how to do this though? I know how to set the shoot on continuos but every time i focus the camera and hold down the shutter it does nothing, one shot, or on then like 5 seconds later another? Apparently it is supposed to do 2-3 shots per second though? Please help? Would be very much appreciated!
and also if you know how to- can someone tell me how to take close up pictures of and eye or something?

Any helpful photography shooting advice?

I own the Nikon D3000 and have learned to use most of the functions but my photos are not turning out the way I would like. They are either blurry, fuzzy, or I can't get the aperture right. I love my camera and would love to start buying new lenses but I want to master the camera and the kit's 18-55 mm lens before I start shopping for more expensive and professional lenses. I'm more of an intermediate beginner, so any advice on how to use my camera for effectively?

Nikon off camera flashes supplies?

I have a nikon D3000, and i wanted to invest in some supplies involving off camera flashes. What do you recommend i buy for flashes, triggers, commanders.yadda yadda or anything i would need to accomplish this.price isn't really a concern but as most people would like to do, id like to spend as little as possible, but still get the satisfaction from the products. I would like two flashes, and whatever else you feel would be necessary.

Got Myself a Nikon D3100. But the RAW images clicked is not accpeted by Adobe Lightroom 3?

LR3 says the RAW image has come from a camera not recognised by the software. It recommended i update to LR3.2 n provided me with a link. I downloaded it, but while installing, it says error in installing. Did it 3 times, all the 3 times got aborted saying error. Now i'm stuck here without any software available to edit RAW images n forced to convert it to JPEG in camera n then edit in LR3. Please if anyone could recommend some solution. Is there any other Nikon user who faced this problem?
And is there any software out there which can help me edit my RAW n then convert it to JPEG.
