How to save up for a new DSLR?

Hi, I'm looking to buy a
Nikon D700 with battery grip [ http://www.bhphotovideo.com/..._Pack.html ] <--Is this the right battery grip?

But, I need to get my financial standings in order. I have around $200 saved up [I know, I know, how sad]. But, I will be selling my old DSLR body [nikon d90] and like to get around $6-700 for it.So, with that let's say I have $800 saved. The nikon d7000 is $1100-1200. That means I still need $400 for the camera body. The battery grip is around $150 [I ALWAYS OVERESTIMATE]
With all of that being said, I need $550. I'm an amateur photographer [apparently good enough to charge] I make around $65 a session and have anywhere from 1-4 sessions a month. This is the camera I want so please don't give me any reason not to get this camera because this is what I want! My current session fee is $25 [please don't laugh. ]. Should I beef it up a bit. The extra $40 is the CD with all the images on it. Are there any ideas on raising my prices or saving? Any ideas/help is very much appreciated. Please, please, do not get rude in answering this question. Btw, I know how to use DSLR's so don't tell me I don't.

What would be a good lens for taking portraits and weddings?

I'm about to purchase a Nikon D300s and would like to know what would be a good lens to have for portraits and taking wedding shots. Would a 18-105mm zoom be any good or something like a 200mm?

Nikon 55mm f1.2? Portrait lens for DX?

I recently asked whether or not a nikon 85mm f1.8 AFD would overlap to much with my 70-210mm f4. The answer I got was a strong no. I completely understand why and agree. A couple of the answers suggested manual focus AI and AIS lenses. I already have 180mm f2.8 ai and use it as my main portrait lens. What I thought is that 85mm may be to long on DX and that 55mm would be just about perfect for a portrait lens on DX. So my question is, dose anyone use this lens on DX as a portrait lens, what are your results? Price is a big issue for me the 85mm AFD is $300 and the 55mm is about the same. I'm using it on a d200 which gives full metering so no issue there. I appreciate this. Thanks in advance.

Added (1). Well I'm hardly a gear head. I'm just a 16 year old kid who loves art and particularly photography. I have saved some money and just wanted to treat myself to a true portrait lens. Not that I can't take portraits with my other lenses but I want something with great bokeh that is shorter than my 45 year old 180 2.8. That's all.

I used a chinese immitation of MB-D10 battery pack to a D700 with 2 lenses. Now the first one (24-120mm VR) appears a F-- to the camera and the other one (18-200mm DX) can't auto focus. Any suggestions?
