Is Nikon d300s better or d7000 better?

So i'm planning to get my first dslr. I have had hands on experiences with a lot of beginner dslr such has the rebel and nikon d3000.i've tried them and there ok but i'm looking for something a few steps a head of the game. So I've decided to get a d300s or d7000. I planning to take many photos some videos but mostly photos. I also edit my pictures. The main types of pictures in which i wish to take is nature, portraits, some sports and if not more.hopefully i gave you guys enough info so you can help me…
