How to continually focus my camera on a rapidly approaching subject?

I'm shooting with a Nikon d700. But I think this question can be for all DSLR cameras:

When I'm using a zoom lens (e.g. 70-200mm) and am trying to auto-focus on a subject (e.g.a running dog) that is directly approaching me at a fast pace, how can I continuously keep them in focus?

What I have done up till now is just keep clicking the shutter release button in the hopes that at least one of the shots stays in focus, however this seems to only have a 10% success rate.

Is there not a way to keep the subject in focus at all times no matter how fast and how near the subject is?

Do photostock companies accept images that have gone through a noise reduction program?

I've been using 'Neat Image' as a noise reduction software, mainly because I have a D200 and it can have a lot of noise, even with 400 ISO. I've had about 20 images accepted by one of the big stock companies, but none had noise reduction. Would this be a factor in whether they select an image or not--assuming all other things being up to their standards? Or should I wait until I have enough money to buy a newer Nikon (since I have all-Nikon equipment), so the noise factor won't be so important?

How to recover photos from nikon cam?

Hi, i clicked alot of pix today. For work… On my boss' cam… And then i connected the cam to the pc… I tried to delete a few blurry pix at once… And all the pix got deleted… The cam even had sum personal pix of my boss n she's gonna get crazy if i don't get the pix back…
I've tried to recover it, but i dunno where to recover it from… C drive or from the cam directly (this is nikon d700 and when connected to the pc, it doesn't show any drive name, it only shows n icon of a cam and the name d700… Which is makin it difficult to recover the pix directly from the cam, so right now i'm tryin to recover it from the c drive. Where the deleted files may have been stored sumwhere!
My question is… Will those pix still be there on the memory card… (its a big card n won't fit in my mem card reader).is it possible to recover it from the memory card directly? Tho i deleted the pix on the memory card… Thru my pc (shift del)… Please Help… Really need it.

How to judge the minimum shutter speed on a DX camera?

I have a Nikon d200. The color is amazing, yet I seem to be having a bit of a problem at low light. As an old film shooter, I learn a ground rule, your lowest shutter speed should match the focal length of your lens, for example, a 50mm f1.8 lens should use a minimum of a 1/50th shutter speed. However, the DX frame treats a 50 mm like it was a 75mm. Consequently, should the minimum speed used (again a rule of thumb) be 1/50 or 1/75? Any references?
