Nikon D3100 use same lens like the Nikon D700?
I have a question YA. Does the Lens for a Nikon D3100 fit the Nikon D700 or even the new Nikon D800?

What happens when you put a cheap lens on a expensive body?
I"m thinking about getting the Nikon D800, though since the body is 3 grand, I won't be able to get nice lenses right away. I heard that lenses are more important then a camera body, though the camera body I have right now is old and is going to crock anyday. Is is it true that any Nikon lens will work with the nikon d800, unlike canons 5d mark iii that will only work with lenses that are EF, not EFS? That is the only thing that put me off from the 5d mark iii. By cheap lens i'm talking about lens that are from 300-600. I probably won't be able to afford one that is anymore expensive then that for some time after the body purchase.
Added (1). By 300-600 I meant dollars, not size.

New Nikon D800? Should I sell all my Canon gear and switch?
I have the (still) excellent 5dmk2, with very low shutter count. I also have plenty of decent-to-excellent glass. I also have a few good Nikon prime lenses, such as 50/1.8 AF-D and 85/1.8 AF-D.
I do mostly landscapes and street photos. I want Nikon's wide angle lens options, though. They are so much stronger than Canon's WA. What I give up can mostly be replaced in Nikon equipment.
Added (1). I like the guy's response when he says "Whatever kid". As if he is some seasoned veteran who has used all systems. I HAVE USED both Canon and Nikon wide angles, and let me tell you: the Canon 16-35/2.8 and the 17-40L (which I own and have used extensively) are very poor in the corners and edges.
But what do I know? I'm just a 34 year-old "kid". Haha

How to sync PF30X external flash with Nikon D1?
I'm a total noob when it comes to photography, but I recently received a Nikon D1 camera with a Sunpak PF30X external flash unit. I've tried finding info on how to work the flash (there's no manual in the box), but I've had no luck. When I lock the flash in place on the camera and turn them both on, the camera won't take a picture, and the only way it'll flash is if I press the "auto check" button on the piece itself. Any help with how I can get these to work would be fantastic, because I need it for tomorrow. Thanks in advance!
Added (1). Edit: When the flash is locked in place on the camera, it will take a picture, but the flash won't go off. Also, it's not the "auto check" button, but rather the "test/charge" button.
@fhotoace: I set it to manual exposure and set the shutter speed to 1/200, but still nothing. Do I need to format something or what?
To reinforce in your minds, I really don't know anything about cameras, so if you could dumb down your answers, that would be great:3

What lens would work with a Nikon D100?
(Follow-up question to the question before this) I tried searching on amazon the obvious "nikon d100 lens" but I didn't get what I was looking for.

I don't own the mannual but I downloaded it online. It said to go to A, and turn the sub command turny thingy. I did that but its still blinking "f--" and I turned the turny thingy for 5 minutes non stop and it is still blinking "f--"
The reason I'm trying to chhange it is because every picture I take come out blurry and dark. When I turned on the flash and took a photo it was just a white photo. My friend told me it was probably the aperture. Correct?

Why such grainy footage from Nikon d3s movie?
I shot some footage outdoors on a sunny day with my nikon d3s in movie mode. ISo was at 200 all day and shutter 1/50 with aperture varying. I'm watching it in QuicktimePro on my Mac desktop and it looks really grainy and low quality. Why is this happening? Do I need a special program to view HD video? Or is it possible that my footage is just grainy? ( but I doubt it, i did several tests beforehand)

I'm looking for a cheap Nikon D700 and can only find ones around $2000 or $1500 for just the body which is so expensive for me.
anyone know of a site or store with cheap D700's or good deals?
I'm currently in Australia but i have the option of purchasing it (in person) from the USA or UK
