What's the difference between NON-VR and VR?
Does anyone know the difference between 18-55mm Lens (NON-VR) Kit and 18-55mm VR Lens Kit?

A Sony 4GB Jump drive? I have a Nikon D3100, do any of you know how i would do it? Also do you know how much Photoshop is? Totally not relevant about what i just asked but does anyone know about either of these questions? I use ViewNX2 for my picture download if you can help please do!

Would it be safe to say picture quality has always been constant?
I look at old photos from the late 19th century and early 20th century such as on Shorpy and when they are blown up, I can't honestly tell the difference in quality between these photos and what my Nikon D5000 can take. Now I'm just an amateur photographer, but to me it seems like photo quality has stayed pretty much constant since photography was invented. Is this true? If not, what accounts for the good quality of old photographs?

What normal zoom lens do you prefer?
What would you suggest? Nikon 17-55 f2.8 or the 24-70 f2.8? I still don't have plans on upgrading to a full frame camera and now i'm using a nikon d7000.

How to use depth of field on a Nikon d5000?
I'm confused on how to exactly make this happen. If I make the depth of field smaller does that make the background less blurry or do you want the depth of field larger?

Will you critique my portraits I did recently?
All taken with Nikon D3000, 50mm 1.8 manual focus lens. I'm trying to get use to the manual focus (not auto focus on the D3000), and would like any feedback. TIA. This is just a hobby, and do portraits for friends and family. Would love to later down the road, do more than just a hobby!
