My Nikon D40 lens won't turn to adjust to a different millimeter. Any ideas why?

What can i do about reclaiming my property?
Me and my girlfriend have lived together for 2 years, we recently have been having very bitter arguments which has resulted in me leaving her, at the start I had moved in all of my things, which I have managed to move out of her place but some things that I have bought in the time we have been together with my money she refuses to give back, claiming that there hers, which at the begging I stated they were jointly mine and hers but overall mine because I bought them, one of which is a Nikon D5000 camera which cost me £500 when I bought it, she uses it a lot more than I do for her home run business but because I never use it and she see's it as a gift from me to her, that she will not let me take it if I move out and even threatening to sell the things I can't manage to take with me all in one go, I'm very scared as these things cost me quite a lot of money and I have no receipts or any evidence apart from a bank statement in my name from Argos for £500 which could be anything as it hasn't got what was sold on the bank statement!

I have a Nikon D3100 and it came with standard 18-55mm lenses. Now I want to buy a lense for zooming. I found some affordable TAMRON lenses and wanted to ask can I use these Tamron lenses with my camera? And which one do you suggest?

I was wondering if anyone would like to critique my photography. In my photos I use a Nikon D5000 with a 18-200mm lens and I don't use a tripod, I just freehand it, so I know the rule of thirds will be off a lot. I recently went to Fiji, New Zealand, and Australia and I posted some of the photos on my Flickr. Please take a look and provide some critique (good or bad). Also I do have the link to my portfolio if you do not care to look at all 89 photos.
By the way I'm 14 if that really matter.

Is there some sort of OS for Nikon D90 to make time lapses with it?
So I have this camera, Nikon D90 and I want to make time lapses with it. As I know there are two options, recording a 20-minute video and then speeding it up and I'm going to use it for short smooth ones, and the second option is to make a whole lot of photos every 2-5-10 seconds and then put them together in a video. I want to make really long videos, like 7-8 hours and clicking shutter button every minute or so doesn't seem good to me, and I wonder if there's some kind of OS for this camera to make a function like auto-shutter where it will take a photo in every minute, so I can just leave the camera to do all the work and then just grab it and put the photos together
