Hey i'm a beginner - will be buying my first dslr.
is it okay if i buy a cheap body of nikon d3100 and a separate 50mm lens. Will the quality be better? And does it have autofocus motor so tht i dun have to use that irritating continuous auto focus? And what other things i will have to buy apart from lens and body?
Added (1). Thanks =-ill buy the G one! And i'm okay wid the 18-55mm but i want autofocus motor - because people say continious auto focus is nt good

Is Nikon D3000 capable for 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G AF-S VR NIKKOR?
With capable I mean if it not just can hold it but if auto-focus works and all the ability's what this lens have (VR II). Finally saved some money for new lens and this might be the one. I'm pretty much new at photography.
I apologize for my bad english.
Added (1). Thank you. Found what I was looking for.

So I know there's no live view on this camera and you have to look through the little square (not quite sure what it is called) So how do you know if you zoomed in or out enough? It's probably a very simple answer, but I just can't figure it out.

Right now i've got it down to the
AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR

or the
AF DX Fisheye 10.5mm f/2.8G ED

my purpose is mainly skate photography and night events such as parties etc. So if anyone who has experience in this please let me know. Also will welcome any suggestions. My camera is the nikon d3100 and i would also prefer the auto focus feature.thanks!
Added (1). *edit
also so this
