I'm considering getting this camera but am stuck between this and a Nikon D5100. Please help!

Added (2). Sorry i didn't think the same person would see the same thing twice. Lol.

Is it possible to put a pentax k-mount lens on an F-mount dslr?

Camera:
Nikon D40

Lenses:
Cosmicar 70-200mm f/4 http://kmp.bdimitrov.de/lenses/zooms/_non-SMC/cos_70-200f4.html
Sears 135mm F/2.8 http://www.pentaxforums.com/userreviews/showproduct.php?product=464&cat=88

Is there an adapter for this?

Added (1). Does a K-mount lens to F-mount camera adapter exist? I'm seeing several places on google that say the other way around (F lens to K camera) exist, but not this one. Could i get some links to ones that would work for this?

The reason i want to try this is i found a couple of K-mount lenses for about $5 each, so I want to play with them a bit. I have my lenses that I use for my every day walkin around so this is more for that controlled experimentation sort of thing

What types of lens are compatible with Nikon DSLRs?

I currently own a Canon, and I think it's plain and simple that as Rebel user I can attach EF and EF-S lenses and that FD mounts won't work without adapters that usually isn't worth the hassle.

I'm thinking about switching to Nikon but I'm looking around and I don't know what lenses are compatible to let's say a Nikon D5000.So far I feel like it's a lot more than just one or two types.

Added (1). Okay is that in other words an "F" mount?

Added (2). Or are there different terms with Nikon than Canon

Where would you buy a Nikon D7000 and 18-200mm lens in Portland, Oregon?

I see some promising places but want to check up on reputations a little bit more. There seems to be at least a half a dozen places or more for this. I just want to know which ones are recommended - nice sales people, etc.

Added (1). Randy: Actually the price difference is pretty much nonexistent for retail sales and online sales on highly in demand Nikon camera bodies. Due to the extreme complexity of these cameras I think buying from a local dealer makes more sense anyway and Oregon doesn't have any sales tax. I will still buy some gear online, but in this particular case the price difference is so small as to be insignificant - less than $5, believe it or not. I do know about B&H Photo (like them) and Adorama, etc., but in this case "going local" just makes more sense to me. If the camera does malfunction I can take it to a local dealer. If I buy it from a NY dealer I have to ship it 6, 000 miles round trip to have it serviced and do without it for who knows how long. A local dealer might give me a loaner to use and that is NOT going to happen with an online dealer.

Is the Nikon SB600 flash still being made for purchase?

My husband is trying to buy the above flash for his NIKON D90 but it seems very difficult to find it and buy as brand new. The only places we can find them are eBay (2nd hand) or sites from the USA. Does anyone know why this is?

Pricing on amateur photography session? Suggestions?

I have had a family ask me if I would like to do their family portraits and their eldest daughter's senior photos for them. I have shot 2 seniors, 1 engagement, 1 wedding, and just some portraits for friends. Then in September I'm shooting another wedding and 2 bridal portrait sessions. But the ones I have done so far were for free because I just started out doing amateur photography and the photos I have done so far are for family and a couple friends. I can't hand out freebies for the rest of my life in photography and especially if I want to start my own photography business. I do have a nice camera (D3100 Nikon and have 2 lenses for it, a 18-55 mm and a 55-200 mm) which I absolutely love. I'm a amateur photographer and training to be a professional photographer. Not someone who just says they are and doesn't pursue after it. ¬ someone with absolutely no experience. What prices are good for a family portrait session and a pricing for senior portrait session? I don't want to charge too much because like I said earlier, I'm a amateur photographer in training to be a professional photographer. If anyone has had experience with this and knows what pricing is cheap and fair please let me know, I would greatly appreciate it.
