Added (1). My dilemma is that I have an important assignment on the 19th, and because of an error through ebay I will not have the designated flash in time.

D90 Intervalometer TC-80?

Will this remote timer work as an intervalometer to take time-lapse photos with a Nikon D90?

http://www.ebay.com/...0525445787

It seems to be only compatible with higher end Nikon models which are full frame.

How much noise reduction is just 'fine' and equal to that of iso 100?

Sorry if the question was framed in a confusing way, but what I mean to ask is that I clicked some photographs with my Nikon DSLR D5100 in the zoo at ISO 400.In NEF/RAW format. In my adobe camera raw, how much should I slide the luminance noise slider to get a good result, along with preserving the details? How much noise should I reduce? I can't find that sweet spot. I'm confused. How much noise should I reduce in order to preserve the details and at the same time reducing the noise. I want the image to look close to ISO 100 which is almost noiseless. But I just can't find the sweet spot.

I was photographing birds. My settings were manual mode, aperture 5.6, SS 1/500 and ISO 400.

The reason why I'm asking and want to reduce noise precisely is because I would be submitting them to stock photography websites like istock, fotolia etc.etc. And I don't want them to decline it on the basis of noise. The photos are really fine! Really! And I don't want them to suffer because of noise.

If you can tell me the exact industry standard/number to put in the luminace slider bar, then it would be cool! Ofcourse, if any.

How to use spot-metering while selecting a manual focus point?

I'm new to DSLRs and own a Nikon D5100. I'm trying to figure out how to use my the spot metering feature, which I prefer over matrix and center-weighted, while still using the manual focus. Manual focus requires me to select a point to focus on (out of 11 dots), but spot metering also requires manual selection of a point for determining light. Can someone help me?

Best upgrade from a Nikon D40X?

I have had my D40X for a few years now, however I want an upgrade.
At my University they use Canon camera's, thus all the lenses are built for canon. Which I don't mind I'm willing to change.
Typically I just want something that will give good quality images, particularly in low light conditions and HD video capabilities. I understand that the lenses are more important but I'll get those in time after I leave uni. So if you could suggest a good Canon that will meet my needs I would be grateful, thanks.

How to format protected SD Cards?

My SD Card for my Nikon D5100 got corrupted so I can't see the photos when you browse it but you can still see that the card is still half full. I tried to format it but this message: "The Disk is Write Protected" keeps appearing, I already switched it to "unlock" (the switch on the left side of the card) but it's no use. What should do? Please give me all the steps to format this card.
