Get a fine lens for the type of photography you are into. The D5100 can make excellent photos with the proper lens.

Micro 105mm for macro shots
14-24mm for wide angles
50mm or 85mm for portrait
fast 200 to 300mm for sports and outdoors

Wait you have a D5100, and you couldn't say more of what you want? Or you want to buy a Nikon D5100 for good photos?

Because while DSLRs are all great, if you don't know how to use them, your pictures won't look good at all.
