Best upgrade from a Nikon D40X?

JOE

I have had my D40X for a few years now, however I want an upgrade.
At my University they use Canon camera's, thus all the lenses are built for canon. Which I don't mind I'm willing to change.
Typically I just want something that will give good quality images, particularly in low light conditions and HD video capabilities. I understand that the lenses are more important but I'll get those in time after I leave uni. So if you could suggest a good Canon that will meet my needs I would be grateful, thanks.

Well first, they don't use Canon because it would be better, they're all the same.

Second, what's your budget?

Good quality images, perhaps you've learned after owning a DSLR for so long, depend on you. All DSLRs are very similar in quality.

Canon EOS T2i and T3i will be great for all you said, 60D is a bit more but even better.
