What is a better sports photography lens?

I was looking at the sigma 120-300 f2.8 and the sigma 50-500mm f4.5-5.6 witch one would be better for cricket and AFL photos.
i have a nikon d90 so the crop factor might be a problem on the 120-300mm and will the 50-500 take as good photos as the 120-300mm.
can you please help me or tell me another lens that be good for me.

Canon EOS rebel T3 or Nikon D3000?

I'm looking to get an entry level DSLR. I have always had canon point and shoot cameras, and they have been great quality for the price. Obviously the photo quality was not nearly as good as a DSLR, but they served their purpose and were a good value. However, the nikon D3000 has good reviews too, and I have never tried a nikon camera, so they may be good too. Both are about the same price on amazon with a 18-55mm lens. Does anyone have any experience with these two cameras and have a preference?

Which is more reliable on the pictures? The camera body? Or the lense?

I'm thinking of getting the Nikon d40, but I'm just getting it's body probably (without the lense) because it's already like $300 like that, but I've seen pictures taken with it and they are fantastic quality, and I know nothing about cameras, so is it dependent on the lense? I don't know anything about lenses, i just want a normal one that will continue the great quality I've seen of pictures on the internet. Do I have to get a specific lense to make it good?

Is the Nikon d40 even have detachable lense?

I'm trying to stay under 300 or $400 for christmas. I doubt I could go over $350.

If you can only keep one lens for your D?

Any nikon D model… If you have to "live or die" keep only one lens on your camera which one would it be for your daily use! I have D7000 and my favorite lens is Nikkor 70-200 mm, but i'm not too sure if that would be my "live or die" choice… Just wanted to see what others think!

What kind of camera is best for taking pictures of people?

I have a Nikon d5100 but I'm thinking about upgrading cameras… Or should I just buy a new better lens? Because i'm only currently using the kit lens…

^ Those are the kind of pictures I wanna take.

Any suggestions?

Added (1). @Taylor, price range doesn't really matter to me, just the quality.
