I'm a new owner of a Nikon D3100. My wife is a semi-pro photographer and has had one for about 6 months. But i just learned of a Astro-photography and thought it would be fun. I get a little bored with taking just pictures here on Earth and would love to get into this field just for fun. But I'm having problems figuring out what i need. I know a telescope, and an adaptor, but no clue of what would be best. I don't have a huge budget, of at most around $300. Amazon is usually where i get most of my supplies, since it seems trustworthy. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. I hope i have some help soon!
Added (1). Well she has been taking pictures for over 7 years. Her last camera wasn't a DSLR but it was a very nice one. So she has a lot of experience, specifically macro.
Added (2). Also, not really ready for deep-space photo's more like objects in the solar system.

Help using interfit light kit ex400 for photos?
Purchased and set-up soft box kit - there are 2 soft boxes, I connected my Nikon d3100 using a hot-shoe, however when I shoot the photo it is very dark. It seems I'm missing an important step.
The reason I purchased this was the ease of use I was promised at the photo shop. I'm Taking against seamless paper backdrop. I would like to have bright studio- like photos, for my fashion portrait shots.
Thanking you in advance for your valued help.

I need some advice on a telephoto lensā¦
I'm going to be doing shooting for a dance studio for their recital. I will be at the back of a dark auditorium. The lens that I got last time was the: Nikon 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D AF VR ED. While I got a lot of great pics, a lot of them were blurry. I was wondering if there was a better one to rent for this sort of shooting?
Ps. I have a Nikon D90

I just got the nikon d5100, and i really want to start using manual mode (i'm a COMPLETE beginner) and all of the pictures i take come out completely black. I set the apperture and shutter speed, and then it tells me my picture is under exposed (the little number line is all the way to negative) but in manual mode, when i go to change the exposure (pressing the [+/-] button and spinning the wheel) it changes the apperture⦠Help!
Added (1). The owners manual hasn't helped.

I have a Nikon sb600 and a sb800, the 800 may be dieing. I shoot in a very fast paced heavy use environment, where quantity is way more important than quality. I need a backup flash, the sb700 is way cheaper than the 800 or 600. Any reason why I can't use the 700 to replace either? Your thoughts are appreciated. The 600 and 800 are coupled to Nikon d60.

I aim planning to buy a DSLR camera?
Which is better for a beginner like me, I have a list, Canon 550D or NIKON D3100 or ant suggestion.

Will this lens work with the D3100 > NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D NIKON LENS
> what issues i may face with this lens if i use it with the D3100?
> Also what better. 35mm or 50mm for landscapes an group pics?
> Also if i have the 18-55 lens, will the 50mm be useful?

I'm confused about camera lenses?
I got a Nikon D3000 last year, and have been using the lens it came with (18-55mm). But now I'm getting annoyed by the lack of zoom, I have to crop the image after to get the zoom I'm looking for. Having looked on lots of buyer guides I think I want a telephoto zoom lens - maybe up to 300mm? I'm not really sure what to be looking for, or what's compatible with my camera. What's a good, yet cheap telephoto lens I could get?

How much is a second-hand Nikon D80 nowadays?
I'm thinking of selling mine to upgrade.

I'm considering a either a nikon d3100 or canon 550d. I'm on a budget, so if you find another camera that is cheaper than these two. Please let me know. Also, I would like the camera to have video capabilities.
