i understand your response and appreciate your feedback. However i do not plan on buying a $6, 000 plus camera as i no little to nothing about them thus far.i'm looking into the entry level dslr's and the reason i ask which brand has the highest lvl is that someday i'd like to improve on what i buy today and i'd like to stay within the same brand.

I'm surprized that D7000 is the replacement of Nikon D90… Nikon D7000 is the almost twize the D90 price… So is there any upcoming Dslr which is actully the replacement of Nikon D90?

What to get with a Nikon D3100?
I finally decided on the new Nikon D3100 after weeks of comparing it to the Canon T2i and other models… I'm picking it up at Best Buy tomorrow, and wanted to know if there's anything else I should buy with it at the time of purchase (other than insurance).
Can anyone recommend a good carrying case (or does it come with one?) and tripod, or anything else that most find a necessity with their DSLR?
I think I'm gonna hold off on another lens for now (it comes standard with the 18-55mm zoom lens), but please feel free to recommend any you think are great.
Cheap Video Camera With Manual Focus?
I'm looking for a cheap video camera with manual focus ring so that I can practice rack focusing. Usually DSLR's have this feature but those are way too expensive for my budget right now. I have a Nikon D80, but unfortunately it does not have video capabilities. So I was just wondering if anyone knows of a good camcorder with rack focusing abilities.
Leave shutter open on nikon d5000?
Okay i know you can leave the shutter open by holding down the button & i know you can do it with a remote but i don't have one & i was wondering if it's possible to just leave it open for a certain amount of time like on it's own?

and that one is 58
so… I understand that the Filter/attachment size means the stuff you attach to the lens like filters and stuff
