Can I use a Tokina 80-200mm lens with a Nikon d3000 camera body?
I got an old Tokina lens from my grandfather and I'm not sure if it works/fits with my camera. I haven't gotten a direct answer from any site so far.
Any help is appreciated!
First you have to determine if the Tokina has a Nikon mount or an other.
Then you need to know that with all entry level Nikon dSLR's are designed to use the latest and greatest Nikkor AF-S lenses.
That means that IF the lens does fit, you will need to use an external light metering system and manually focus the lens.
Since Tokina makes lenses for both Nikon and Canon cameras (they own Pentax), you have about a 50/50 chance of it fitting your camera
