Which is better Nikon 18-55mm or 18-105mm lens?
Not considering the price and the zoom range which lens is better quality, the Nikon 18-55mm VR or the 18-105mm VR?

Budget-minded sports lens for Sony dslr?
Which is better for action sports? 1) buy a used Canon FD 300mm f/2.8 (or Nikon ED) & adapter for Sony 2) buy a used Minolta 300mm f/4.0 w/o adapter. Looks like 1) is a bit cheaper, but I'm not sure if the qaulity/focusing is still good with the adapter. FYI I have a new 70-200mm f/2.8.
Nikon d3100- why won't shutter go any slower than 1/60th in A mode with flash?
When I'm in Aperture priority mode and I want to use about F24 with the flash on, my shutter won't go any slower than 1/60th even though the meter is showing the picture as being very under-exposed. If I have the flash ON OR OFF in Manual or Shutter priority mode the shutter will go slower than 1/60th. It is only if I have my flash OFF in Aperture priority mode the shutter will go slower than 1/60fth. This does not make sense.
Camera for beginner photographer?
I have recently taken up a passion for taking photos. I had an old cannon digital camera, but it broke. I will be traveling to Europe this summer and I would really like to have a camera that I can take and get some good photos from. I'm also interested in sports photography. I have looked at Nikon cameras, but that are very expensive. I would like to not pay a lot of money for this camera. So any suggestions?
