I would consider myself to be past a beginner level photographer and I just want a better camera for more professional looking shots. It would be nice if it wasn't too expensive (under 400)? I'm looking for something more than the average digital camera. I currently have a Sony Cyber-Shot (12.1 mega pixels) and it takes great pictures and all, but I'm just looking for something more professional… I've seen some decent Canon's and Nikon's; I just don't know which ones would be the best for the kind of photography I'm looking to do. I want a camera good for taking shots of anything from landscapes, to portraits, to even sporting events.
Any recommendations?
What would be a good camera for me? - 1
I'm just starting photography, and need a good digital SLR camera. I want a Nikon, but the camera should also be reasonably priced, not very expensive. My flickr photostream is:
Please look at my photos and decide what a good camera would be for me! I'm 13.
I have a flash that I use for my Nikon DSLR. I don't know the voltage and no info could be found on this flash. It's pretty old and I just hope that it doesn't fry my camera or something. How do I know if a flash unit is strobe or not? I mean I assumed a strobe is those big ones in studios but then I've seen pics where it also has a hot shoe that could possibly be mounted on a DSLR so it made me wonder.
My flash is called ProSpec. It's pretty old.
Nikon, Canon or Sony for a Pocket Digicam with manual exposure?
Yes, this time I'm about to buy a Pocket Digicam with full manual exposure options, and so far I've narrowed my search to Canon, Nikon and Sony… Obviously I'm looking for a capable, robust and well built small camera… It won't be a new one since today's digicams have taken off manual options and viewfinders from their pocket size digicams, but I've found many options at Keh and Adorama…
What makes skintones look green on photos?
I have a cheap compact casio camera, and while the quality is only mediocre the colors are always perfect.
Yesterday I upgraded to a high-end Sony bridge camera (HX100V) and whilst the quality is better the colors are really bad.
Almost all face shots have greenish hues in the skintones, especially around the cheeks, forehead and neck. In tungsten light skin looks orange and brown hair looks red. I have tried auto settings as well as the appropriate white-balance settings.
I have also noticed the green hue issue on my dads canon SLR, as well as a friends Nikon SLR.
And yet somehow, my cheap compact casio NEVER struggles with color.
So why is this happening? Is it just that casio have better software for white-balancing despite it's lower quality lens/sensor?
The other thing to note, is that the casio is a CCD whereas my Sony and the SLRs are all CMOS… But is this a coincidence?
Do camera lenses only work with certain cameras?
I keep on seeing camera's say that they are compatible with "this line of lenses" or things like that. But i have an old 35mm non-digital camera and I have tons of different brands of lenses! So i was wondering if the camera's now only work with the same brand lens, for instance Canon with Canon lenses or Nikon with Nikon lenses, etc.
I was wondering why professional cameras are so big?
I'm referring to the kind used to shoot TV shows and movies. Every year, Nikon, Kodak, and others make smaller and smaller cameras for personal use, but the professional kind never get any smaller.
Where can I sell my 1200$ camera plus the extra lens I paid $300 for?
All of it works in great condition. It's a nikon dx. I went to lawn shops and they only want to give me $50 for All of it. It comes with the bag extra attachments charger EVERYTHING works perfect. Any advice besides eBay and c list?
Which is better Nikon or Cannon?
I'm looking into getting a new camera. I love photography so want something more advanced. An upgrade from my old point and shoot olympus. But which brand is better? Cannon has the dslr rebel and nikon has the j1. I would like to be able to capture moving objects as clear as possible without any blur. And still be a able to capture still shots.
I'm open to any other suggestions just as long as it has interchangeable lenses
Is there any cameras out on the market that are like the Nikon 1 j1? I love that camera but it is far to expensive.
